Why should someone outside the U.S. speak up about the state of American democracy?

Because if democracy collapses there, its ripple effects will be global.

We’ve seen this before. In 1938, Chamberlain dismissed the fate of a “faraway country.” when referring to Czechoslovakia.

We know how that ended. Today, the stakes are just as high — but the tools are digital, driven by AI and surveillance.

If the U.S. becomes a failed democratic state, what models are left? China? Russia? A fragmented EU?

We all have a stake in what happens next. Even a post — a voice — matters.
